There is no doubt that breastfeeding your baby provides the best form of nutrition and protects him/her from infection. Breastfeeding also benefits the mother by lowering the risk of certain health problems like type 2 diabetes, breast cancer and postpartum depression. However, as three mothers who have personal experience with breastfeeding we understand that it is not necessarily the picture-perfect scene that is portrayed in the media. Breastfeeding is a learning experience for both mother and baby and it can take some time to establish a healthy breastfeeding routine. If you have questions or are having problems with breastfeeding please ask your pediatrician at your visit. We are also equipped with a breastfeeding room in our office to give you the comfort and privacy should you need to feed your baby during your time in our office.
